I've convinced dear husband that we're going to the Thanksgiving Eve service at our parish (readings from historical sources, etc.), and the kids were all over THAT as soon as they learned what a pie social was. They requested pumpkin pie, but my husband is pining for chocolate silk pie, a much bigger test of my patience, with the double boiler and stirring forever and all that. Pumpkin pie is sooo easy and yummy...

And what exactly is your chocolate/pecan pie? Chocolate custard w/ pecans on top? Crushed pecans in the crust? Some other combination? I have a lot of pecans in the freezer and want to do something a little different for one of the several pie occasions over the course of this week. Do tell!
At 1:58 PM, Emily said...: I'm embarrassed to say it's been so long since I made it (seminary) that I can't remember! I think it involved chocolate chips/chunks in the filling. I was going to browse my pie recipes this evening and I'll let you know.
