Or, how I spent Palm Sunday between services. A parishioner said he'd bring the donkeys if I would get on and ride. . .

"Things They Never Told Us About in Seminary," Chapter 63.
Isn't it fun being a fool for Christ? Seriously - you're my hero. That's a game thing to do.
One of these days you've got to come east and visit...
Tell me Vicar what is the weather like in Dibley?
That's great! Plus it probably gave all the parishoners a chance to make "nice ass" comments, in accordance with the Scripture.
Ok, it seems Rhiannon and I had a similar thought, "nice ass". lol Those are fun pictures Emily!!!
You are so brave!
Love the pink scarf!
I LOVE these pictures! How brave does that make you and certainly you parishoners should appreciate it!
Oh, it was so very Dibleyesque.
Actually, the only tough part was getting on. The parishioner led me around and the donkey was very gentle.
I wouldn't recommend wearing black pumps for riding on a regular basis, however.
YES (and I loved Jane-Ellen's caption too)
Several years ago our minister preached a sermon on how it must have felt to the disciple who was put on the "donkey committee" when everyone else had more glamorous and/or interesting committeess to chair for that first Holy Week. His point of course is that all duties (in a church) are important and necessary but your picture made me think of that sermon.
This is great!
I've done plenty of horseback riding but I've never been on a donkey...
I'll add this to my list of "crazy things I might have to do with a parish."
:-)
Oh, Emily! You are one brave lady and I'm sure the Lord was looking out for you. A strange equine, riding on *pavement*, and *NO* helmet...Mercy!
I'm so glad that it turned out well, but next time, please wear a protective helmet...and you might want to consider riding on grass. : )

I love the pictures. I printed one and am hanging it up at my desk. If anyone asks, I'll be sure to make a crude 'ass' joke. ;)
